ACCOUNT DELETION

To delete your Paze X account and data, you have two options:


Option 1: In-App Deletion (Instant)

  1. Open the Paze X App (Driver or Rider).
  2. Go to Settings > Profile.
  3. Tap Delete Account and confirm.


Option 2: Web Request (No App Required) If you have already deleted the app, you may request account deletion via email. We will process this manually within 7 days.


Data Retention & Anonymization Policy

In compliance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023 and the Companies Income Tax Act, Paze X Nigeria Ltd adheres to the following retention schedules when an account deletion is requested:

  • Personal Profile Data (Immediate Deletion): Data such as your profile photo, marketing preferences, and rating history are deleted within 30 days of your request, provided there are no active disputes.
  • Financial & Trip Transaction Data (6-Year Retention): To comply with Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) regulations and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) laws, we are legally required to retain transaction records (trip logs, invoices, and payment history) for 6 years. During this period, this data is archived and restricted; it is not used for commercial purposes and is only accessed if required by law enforcement or tax authorities. After 6 years, it is permanently deleted.

Information Collection and Use

This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you use the Paze X application. This SERVICE is provided by Paze X Nigeria Ltd at no cost and is intended for use as is.

For a better experience, we require the following specific permissions:

  • Location Data: This app collects location data to enable "live location tracking" and "receive ride requests" even when the app is closed or not in use. We collect your live location for better communication between the rider and driver.
  • Contacts (Riders): We request access to your phone’s contact list to enable the Trusted Contacts feature (sharing live trip details with emergency contacts) and to allow you to invite friends to the platform. We do not use your contact information for marketing.
  • Camera (Drivers): We require camera access to allow Driver Partners to take and upload photos of identification documents, driver licenses, and vehicle permits during the registration and verification process.


Log Data

Whenever you use our Service, in case of an error in the app, we collect data and information (through third-party products) on your phone called Log Data. This may include your device IP address, device name, operating system version, and usage statistics.


Cookies

Cookies are files with a small amount of data commonly used as anonymous unique identifiers. This Service does not use these “cookies” explicitly; however, the app may use third-party code and libraries that use “cookies” to collect information and improve their services.


Service Providers

We may employ third-party companies to facilitate our Service, provide the Service on our behalf, or perform Service-related analysis. These third parties have access to your Personal Information only to perform tasks assigned to them on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.


Security

We value your trust in providing us your Personal Information and strive to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable.


Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
